Learn to Remove the Chat Names from the Facebook Bar

Removing undesired names from the sidebar of your Facebook chat makes it convenient for the user to see how many of your friends are online and to chat with your close friends.

Facebook chat bar is based on how frequently and recently you interact and talk with those friends. Here is the trick to hide the chat names from the Facebook bar:

1. Visit your Facebook account in a browser.
2. Click on the gear icon in the chat section and then go to the “Advanced Settings”
3. Click on the radio button present next to the option “Turn the chat ON for all your friends except”
4. Enter the name of the person in the provided text field to which you want to exclude. Repeat this for other names which you want to remove.

To allow only specific persons

1. Visit your Facebook account in a browser.
2. Go to the Advanced Settings by clicking on the gear icon in the chat section.
3. Click on the radio button present next to the option “Turn the chat ON for some friends only”
4. Enter the name of the person in the provided text field to which you want to include. Repeat this process for other names which you want to add. You can also make a close friends list and add your favorite person to it.
